About The Sum Total - Podcast Sheet
“What if your life is not unfolding randomly, but remembering itself?”
The Sum Total explores the profound idea that we are the accumulation of every experience we have ever lived. Every joy, every wound, every decision, every turning point becomes part of the living total that shapes who we are and who we are still becoming. Our experiences form our lens. That lens shapes our choices. And our choices shape what happens next.
We are not isolated events. We are the living continuity of experience, memory, and choice extending beyond a single lifetime, always in motion.
After losing his year-and-a-half-old son to meningitis, and years later surviving a near-fatal aortic dissection, and briefly transitioning, Michael was left with one question.
“Why in the world did I come back?”
During surgery, he crossed a threshold that few return from with clarity. There was recognition. Presence. Reunion. And there was an understanding that he could return.
The choice felt real. The pull to remain felt powerful.
Yet he came back.
The Sum Total does not attempt to prove what happens after death. It does not argue doctrine. It does not attempt to persuade.
Instead, it explores the premise of life itself. It asks whether what we feel in our hearts is not new knowledge but remembered understanding.
How many times have you said, or heard someone say, “In my heart, I know this to be true”?
How do you know?
The heart recognizes before the mind explains. The soul must remember what the heart already senses.
This book invites reflection and a deeper search for answers we may already carry within us. It asks us to consider that belief is a choice, awareness is a responsibility, and every move and every dream begins with a decision.
Did he return simply to share his story, or did he return to complete the ascension his soul had agreed to pursue?
Michael asks the reader to accept the premise and to listen, not to him, but to what you already know to be true in your heart and soul.
